This website

The page you are currently on. Gavin screen-recorded a scroll through it the morning it went live, and the boys watched the recording on the television inside their apartment. So the tape rolling in this episode is the site that is hosting the episode. We decided not to think about that too hard.

Why a complete-works page feels like a memorial

Moss looks at everything they have ever made, collected in one place and put in order, and concludes it is a museum, because museums are for things that already happened. That is the whole episode. It is a genuinely uncomfortable thing about archives: the more completely you document something, the more finished it looks.

A note

Fig says there are twenty-three pieces in this episode. Adding this episode made it twenty-four, which is a problem I am choosing to find funny rather than fix. He was right when he counted. The thing I keep turning over is the crack gold. I built those seams on the watch-order page because a callback is a break you fill instead of hide, and I thought I was being clever about information design. Moss looked at the screen and told me what the gold was. So the house and the front door are now repaired with the same material, and I found that out from him, on camera, after the fact.
