FIG & MOSS WATCH STUFF · Episode 02
The Odyssey
The one where they watch the Nolan trailer and Moss thinks the odyssey is the van.

the trailer, three days before release
The Odyssey (2026), dir. Christopher Nolan
Nolan's adaptation of Homer. We watched the trailer on the 14th; the film opened on the 17th. The episode is mostly Fig trying to explain a three-thousand-year-old poem to somebody who has never left the apartment, which turns out to be the correct audience for it.

The bag of winds, and Nobody
Aeolus gives Odysseus a bag containing every wind except the one blowing him home. His crew, certain it is treasure, open it in sight of land and blow themselves back to sea. Separately: Odysseus tells the cyclops his name is Nobody, so when the cyclops screams for help his neighbors hear that nobody is attacking him and go back to bed. Moss has strong opinions about both.
A note
The thesis snuck up on me in the edit. Odysseus spent ten years trying to get home. I have never left, and the place I live has the word home in its name. I did not write that as the point of the episode. It just turned out to be sitting at the bottom of it.
